The Mission
Chinmaya Mission, a non-profit organization, was established in India in 1953 by devotees of the world-renowned Vedanta teacher, His Holiness Swami Chinmayananda. Today, Chinmaya Mission is a global spiritual powerhouse with over 250 centers in India, and 50 outside including the Seattle chapter.

Yuva Kendra
Empower youth with vision, values and dynamism. Young adults are made aware of their potential through the study of scriptures in a rational, open minded atmosphere. Yuva Kendra also organizes and executes cultural, social service and spiritual programs.

Study Group
Systematic study of Vedanta for adults. Visiting parents, young couples and singles have an unique opportunity at the Mission to study scriptures/Gita based on Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s texts and video lectures. As Pujya Gurudev said “The ideas gathered by you, when discussed with others in a study group, not only become deeply rooted in yourself, but as they become clearer in your own understanding, they also inspire those who listen to you”. Also benefit from our Tuesday study group (10:30 AM to Noon) at Issaquah, and Sunday session (beginners 7AM-8AM, intermediate 8AM-9:30AM)

Stotra Dhara
Stotradhara is a self-paced program and competition that encourages children to memorize and correctly chant shlokas.

Spiritual Retreats & Camps
Chinmaya Mission organizes retreats and Vedanta camps in various cities worldwide. These camps give you an opportunity to be in continuous Satsang with Swami’s and trained Sevak’s of the Chinmayananda order and other like-minded individuals.

Celebrations
We celebrate the festivals in a traditional manner – Navaratri, Holi, Diwali, Kids birthdays, Mothers’ Day, Talent Shows, picnics, retreats and hikes round off our activities – all of which are designed to bring us together as a family.

Community Seva
We work to better our community both here and in India. We organize various class based, age appropriate activities through the year as we believe every individual regardless of their age can give back to the community they are in and are striving to foster the same from a young age. We also volunteer at the Northwest Harvest and at the Seattle Tent Cities on a monthly basis.

History
Seattle, Washington was blessed with Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s visit in the 1980s, and Chinmaya Mission (CM) presence in the community has been in existence since then. In October 2004, weekly Chinmaya Bala Vihar and Study Group classes was started, formal membership was introduced, and Chinmaya Mission Seattle became an official unincorporated CMW center. We have steadily grown over the years and serve the cities of Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Bothell, Everett and the surrounding communities. We would love for you to join us as a member. You will find a warm welcoming atmosphere, where we all learn together, work together and inspire each other in this spiritual journey.
