History
Seattle, Washington was first blessed with the presence of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda during his visit in the 1980s, and the Chinmaya Mission (CM) presence in the community has been active ever since.
In October 2004, weekly Chinmaya Bala Vihar and Study Group classes were started, formal membership was introduced, and Chinmaya Mission Seattle became an official unincorporated CMW center.
We have steadily grown over the years and serve the cities of Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Bothell, Everett, and the surrounding communities. We are pleased to announce that in 2025, we officially became incorporated as Chinmaya Mission Seattle.
We are also delighted to share that we have purchased our own ashram in Lynnwood, where we host weekend prayers, classes, and various devotional activities.
